‘Daywear’ BDSM Jewellery

Here at Kabunza, we understand that many people are very conscious about displaying any form of BDSM activity or status in their day-to-day lives. While our world is evolving and people these days are far more outspoken and accepting, it can still sometimes be an issue.

In the hopes of bringing people products that can reflect the best of both worlds; we have been working on what we will be calling our ‘Daywear’ range of products. These would be items that have very subtle BDSM overtones on what could normally be considered a vanilla item of jewellery. The collection will also include additions and accessories to our current range of BDSM collars and restraints which will convert the BDSM items into vanilla looking jewellery.

Here are a few examples of our first ‘Daywear’ products:

Kabunza ‘Daywear’ Bracelets:

Our ‘Daywear’ Bracelets are made of a fine stainless steel chainmail and have the added touch of a tiny crystal inlaid padlock charm. A beautiful and very discrete D/s statement.

Perfect BDSM subtlety for everyday wear.

Kabunza ‘Daywear’ Collar conversion pendants:

A large portion of our collar range is/can be made with our smaller 6mm rings (All of which are available in stainless steel, brass or bronze) which, while appearing rather dainty, beautiful and jewellery-like for a BDSM collar, are actually incredibly strong, durable and more than capable of withstanding vigorous or even violent D/s play.

Our newest design; the Kabunza ‘Daywear’ Collar conversion pendant, basically replaces the normal chrome padlock (which we supply with every Kabunza BDSM collar) with a clip-on pendant. Making the fully functional BDSM collar seemingly appear as a rather lovely, interesting, and unique chainmail necklace.

In the image below, you can see one of our popular 6mm stainless steel Byzantine weave chainmail collars. On the left, you can see how the collar appears with its supplied padlock, on the right, we have replaced the padlock with one of our collar conversion pendants (made with one of our chrome Mouri Hooks). The pendant loosens the collar, adds length (which makes it look more like a necklace and less like a collar or choker) and suddenly you are able to wear your BDSM collar every day without needing to worry about adverse opinions; It simply looks as though you are wearing a necklace.

When ready for BDSM play, simply unclip the conversion pendant and replace it with the chrome padlock.

These ‘Daywear’ Collar conversion pendants can be made with any of our current metals and can be made with any kind of pendant. Custom orders can be created on request (please feel free to contact us with any questions or queries at our Etsy.com shop, our Fetlife profile or our email: Kabunza@live.com).

We hope people enjoy the newest of our designs and we look forward to bringing many more concepts and creations to our ‘Daywear’ BDSM range of products in the near future.

Handflowers

Handflower slave bracelets are a piece of jewellery understood to be associated with several cultures and are also worn as belly dancing or harem jewellery. They are a favoured piece of jewelry by the Gothic subculture and are worn by some BDSM lifestyle couples as a symbol of ownership between Owner and submissive.

Here at Kabunza we tend to make a lot of sturdy BDSM orientated items. Our handflower bracelets are the latest in what we hope will be a uniquely varied line of purchasable chainmail clothing items.

Created using 6mm and 8mm Solid Stainless steel rings (however, we can custom these items in other metals), our first sets of handflowers are created using three types of chainmail weave. The main wrist and hand is a dense “European 6 in 1” sheet weave, the stem between the hand and the finger is a “half Persian” weave which ends in a ring that has been created from a “Japanese 4:2” weave. The handflower is secured at the wrist with elegant black velvet ribbons.

This wonderfully gothic item will also soon be available as a cuff item where the ribbons will be replaced with chrome padlocks.

These items are now available for purchase in our Etsy shop.

Simple Beadwerks

We have a number of bead necklaces and bracelets being created at the moment. The majority are somewhat native American in style using horn, bone, metals and glass or a Oriental style using jade crystals and carvings.

Most will be unique due to limited resources of specific beads and will be available in our Etsy shop soon.

However, simple matching necklaces and bracelets using glass and brass (or other materials) can be made repeatedly on request. Please feel free to message us if you would like one created in specific colours or materials.

Custom Orders

Here at Kabunza, we enjoy a good challenge and attempt custom creations on a regular basis.

If you have something in mind, please feel free to drop us an email at kabunza@live.com or message us on our etsy shop.

DV8 Fetish Festival 2012: Overview

As expected, the festival was exceedingly fun.

For our first ever official event I think we did exceptionally well. Lots of business cards were passed around, we received lots of interest and collars, necklaces, bracelets and cuffs were made to measure on the spot for a good number of people.

We at Kabunza wish to thank everyone who made this such a great event for us.

We look forward to attending the next DV8 fetish festival in 2013!

A Gallery of Weaves

This is a post to basically profile all the chainmail weaves that we have used in our creations to date along with photographs of how they all look.

If you would like something specific made to order or if you have a chainmail weave in mind that is not profiled here, feel free to contact us and we will endeavor to create what you have in mind.

Bee Stings Weave:

A 1-1-2-1-1 chain with the rings flipped around each other in an entertaining way.

Box Chain Weave:

Box chain is a European 4:1 variant that is four rows wide, with the fourth row connecting back onto the first making it into a chain weave.

Byzantine Weave:

This weave is basically little box weave units connected by one or more connector rings.

Byzantine/Box Hybrid Weave:

A mix of both Byzantine and Box Chain weaves in increments of one after the other.

Double Fleur Weave:

Excellent for necklaces and bracelets. Flower is mini 3-unit Mobius Balls connected by 1 or more connector rings. This variation has been renamed “Fleur” because the design was stumbled upon by the french half of Kabunza Craftwerks while playing with the “flower” weave.

A Mobius Ball is a very unique chainmail weave insofar as it is made out of a number of rings with every ring in the unit passing through every other ring.

European 6 in 1 Weave:

European 6:1 is a progression of European 4:1. In it, each ring passes through six others, creating a dense fabric, depending on the ring aspect ratio used. Normally we create lines or sheets of 8mm rings with 2 outside lines of 6mm rings. Examples below start with our “3 Line” range (1 line of 8mm rings and 2 lines of 6mm rings) and scale upwards towards our hefty “7 Line” range (5 lines of 8mm rings and 2 lines of 6mm rings).

3 Line:

5 Line:

7 Line:

Half Persian Weave:

A beautiful weave. Quite easy to construct once figured out. Also known as Persian 3:1.

Snake Skin Weave:

Also known as “Alligator back” or “Ridgeway”. 2 chains of Half Persian joined with a central line of European 4:1.
